Clear Mental Horsemanship with Dennis Cappel
Living with a master horseman, you have to do a lot of accepting and understand that you’re probably not going to change it.
Early in our marriage, I remember saying, “This horse business just isn’t working.”
Without hesitation, Dennis said, “I’m not quitting.”
Over more than three decades, I’ve come to understand that this wasn’t just something he wanted to do. It was a burning desire. It was who he was.
I used to struggle with that. I felt like the horses were always in front of me. But I’ve learned that when someone has desire that deep, it becomes their life.
Dennis doesn’t just "know" about horses. He knows them.
He still continues learning through books, videos, and conversations with other great horsemen. But by far the greatest teacher is every horse!
The masters are a different breed. The dedication is almost impossible to explain, but I have come to deeply respect it.
After all these years, I know one thing for certain:
Every horse is better for having been in Dennis’s presence.
And I’m grateful I got to witness what happens when someone gives their whole life to what they love.
