Meet the Team
Dennis Cappel
Owner and Trainer
Dennis grew up on an Angus cattle farm, where his passion for livestock took deep roots. After graduating with a BS in Animal Sciences from the University of Missouri, he managed Briarwood Farms in Butler, MO, where he began his journey in horse training and shoeing.
Over the last 30 years, Dennis has produced champions in roping, cutting, and ranch versatility. His most recent accomplishments include being in the top ten finalist of the 2017 Extreme Mustang Makeover, Players Choice, in Ft. Worth, TX, 2016 Extreme Mustang Makeover Reserved Champion Sedalia, 2015 Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion St. Louis, MO, Colt Starting Challenge Winner (Iowa Equine Fair), and Heartland Horseman’s Challenge Winner (Illinois Horse Fair). Dennis was also a past president of the Missouri Ranch Horse Association.
Dennis is known for his extremely effective communication with horses and people to raise both to their highest potential. His psychology of “Ride Your Picture” guides all aspects of his training.

Cindy Cappel
Tech Lead
Cindy has been involved with horses for many years and has spent countless hours riding, showing, and learning alongside Dennis. While she no longer spends most of her time in the saddle, she has chosen to devote her energy to growing Cappel Training & Shoeing and supporting the clients and programs that make the business thrive.
Today, Cindy is the creative and organizational force behind much of the business. She oversees marketing, videography, educational content, program development, client communication, and the day-to-day details that support every clinic, lesson, and training program. She enjoys capturing Dennis’s knowledge and experience so it can reach and benefit more horse owners.
As a teacher, author, and life coach, Cindy also encourages clients as they grow in confidence and understanding. She believes that successful horsemanship is about more than training horses; it is about helping people develop patience, trust, clear communication, and confidence alongside their horses.
Together, Dennis and Cindy combine years of horsemanship with education, encouragement, and a shared passion for helping horses and their owners succeed.
