Modern-Day Promoters: Why My Journey Doesn’t Fit the Mold

In today’s world of promotion, there’s a familiar narrative people expect—a tale of struggle and a single transformative discovery that changes everything. But for me, that story just doesn’t ring true.

Promoters and marketers often try to box me into that formula, but I don’t fit. I’ll bet you won’t find many top horsemen who do either. Horse training, after all, isn’t about one magical moment; it’s a lifelong pursuit of learning, adapting, and improving.

The Truth About My Journey

My story isn’t about one big breakthrough. It’s about persistence. I was too stubborn to give up on my passion—a burning desire to communicate more clearly with my horses. Every small “light bulb moment” fueled my determination to keep striving for better.

That journey continues to this day, thanks in no small part to my wife Cindy, whose creativity and insight have shaped the way I teach others. Her support has been instrumental in helping me share what I’ve learned with people eager to grow as horsemen.

Lessons for Aspiring Horsemen

What I share isn’t a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, it’s a reflection of my personal journey, filled with small steps, hard work, and continuous learning. My hope is that by sharing these experiences, others can find inspiration for their own journeys to becoming better horsemen.
